NEW SLANG ON ICE By Beth Hahn One day last February I was walking down the street. It was REALLY cold. There were these two little boys playing on the sidewalk. One of them went over to a fire hydrant and starting sliding around on a patch of ice, holding on to the hydrant. He turned to his friend like he'd found the best game in the entire world, and said, "Yo' Snaps, this joint is slipp'ry." Since then I have decided the phrase can be applied to a great many situations.
